Fire Suppression

Hastings Fire & Rescue has 30 full time firefighters, all of whom are trained to at least the Firefighter II level.  Confirmed building fires within the city limits will receive all persons on duty. Standard structure fire response is 2 quints, 2 ambulances, and 1 chief officer. 

Due to the dangers, physical demands, and number of personnel needed to fight a fire, all working fires result in a 1-11 or 1 alarm.  This recalls all HFR personnel and a mutual aid engine and personnel.  If the incident becomes large enough, additional alarms are requested therefore bringing in other fire departments from in or around Adams County.
